Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Starlight Guide on iPhone or on the web at app.starlightguide.app. By using Starlight Guide, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Starlight Guide.

What Starlight Guide is

Starlight Guide offers astrology readings, questions, lessons and a journal for reflection and entertainment. Readings are calculated from your birth details and published planetary positions, then written up using astrological traditions. They are prompts to think with, not predictions or facts about you or anyone else.

Starlight Guide doesn’t give medical, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice. Don’t use it to make decisions about your health, safety, money, relationships or legal matters. Talk to a qualified professional instead.

Who can use it

You must be 13 or older to use Starlight Guide. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, please review these terms with a parent or guardian. Please give your real birth date: the app uses it to calculate readings and to apply age rules.

Your account

  • Your account: keep your sign-in method secure and your details accurate. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Deleting it: you can delete your account at any time with “Delete all my data” in the app.
  • Your data: our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

The guides

Starlight Guide’s guides are fictional characters. Their voices are AI-generated. They aren’t real people, astrologers, tarot readers or counselors, and nothing they say comes from a person reviewing your chart.

Your wellbeing

Starlight Guide isn’t a crisis or support service. If you’re in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number now. In the US or Canada, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Any support information the app shows is a pointer, not a substitute for help from a professional or someone you trust.

Using Starlight Guide properly

Please don’t:

  • Other people’s information: add someone to your Circle without their permission, or use Starlight Guide to harass, track or make claims about another person.
  • Access: try to reach another person’s account or data, or get around the app’s age rules or fair-use limits.
  • Automated use: copy, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or use automated tools to access it.
  • The law: break the law or anyone’s rights.
  • Misleading others: present Starlight Guide’s readings, voices or characters as coming from a real person or professional.

We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules. We’ll tell you when we reasonably can.

Your content

Your journal entries, photos and Circle details remain yours. You let us store and process them only to provide Starlight Guide to you, as our Privacy Policy describes. We don’t use them for advertising.

Our content

Starlight Guide, including its app, website, text, readings, lessons, guide characters, artwork, voices and name, belongs to JXR Labs LLC or its licensors. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may share a reading or card through the app’s share options. Please don’t copy, sell or redistribute it otherwise.

Planetary positions come from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Place data includes GeoNames data used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Starlight Guide available, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. Features may change or be removed. Question limits apply so the service stays available to everyone.

Disclaimers

Starlight Guide is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of readings.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, JXR Labs LLC isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on Starlight Guide. Our total liability for any claim about Starlight Guide is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the effective date, and if a change matters we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Starlight Guide after that, the new terms apply.

Starlight Guide Plus

Starlight Guide Plus is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. The price, the billing period and what’s included are shown before you buy. It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. If you cancel during the free trial, you won’t be charged. If you cancel later, Plus stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Who sells it depends on where you buy it:

  • On iPhone, Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
  • On the web, Plus is sold through Link, a service of Stripe, which acts as the seller (merchant of record) for the purchase. Link’s purchase terms, shown at checkout, apply to the payment, and Link handles the payment, any sales tax, receipts, refunds and payment disputes. Your purchase shows as “Sold through Link,” and your card statement shows “LINK.COM*” followed by our name. Manage or cancel it at link.com. For payment, receipt or refund questions, contact Link support at support.link.com. Web purchases are for adults aged 18 and over.

We provide the Plus features themselves. For anything about the features or your account, contact us at support@jxrlabs.app.

Shared pair features. If you have Plus and link with friends in Circle, you can open the “just you two” features for your pair with up to 5 linked friends. They don’t get Plus for anything else. Their access ends if your subscription ends or either of you unlinks.

We may change Plus prices or features. We’ll tell you before a price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can’t be waived.

Apple App Store

If you use Starlight Guide on iPhone, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple isn’t responsible for Starlight Guide or its content.
